tms Volunteers at Blackfriars Settlement

On March 23, 2023, 12 tms-ers spent some time volunteering at the Blackfriars Settlement community center. The team visited the settlement in London to cook a tasty lunch for over 40 people, followed by a game of bingo. Our team started the day with preparing hearty cottage pies, salmon, nut-loaf, veggies, cheesecake, apple pie and eton mess, which were very well received before the main event — cash and chocolate prize bingo with Claire Rae, Group Account Director at tms, effortlessly and stylishly calling out the numbers!

As presented back in November 2022 and as part of our Better Future Blueprint goals, we aim to provide two tms volunteering opportunities in every quarter. We continuously encourage our employees to get involved in upcoming volunteering projects.

Tina Johnson, co-ordinator at the Blackfriars Settlement commented on the day: “Thank you so much tms. You and your team were amazing. The lunch was perfect. The desserts went down a treat, and all the little extras, like chocolates, biscuits and juices are much appreciated. We are so very grateful. [The] members loved the lunch and Claire's bingo calling.” 

The Blackfriars Settlement is a busy community organization in London's North Southwark. Set up by volunteers back in 1887 with a vision to work with local people to make life better, they aim to support individuals with their own needs and aspirations as well as being a focal outreach point in the community for all.
